Friends of the Trust

We are a charity who aims to promote and enhance sustainable recreation, access and nature conservation on and around the lakes of the South West. By becoming a Friend of the Trust you are making a commitment to us and to many groups, societies and individuals that use our lakes. Your contribution is important to the work we do.

Have you fallen in love with a lake?

By becoming a Friend of the Trust, you can opt to be either an overall Trust supporter, receiving a selection of updates and invites to events OR support your favourite lake and receive updates on, and invites to, that particular site…it’s entirely up to you.

Friends have helped us to:

Re-opening the College Lake Nature Reserve, near Penryn in Cornwall, to enable visitors to enjoy the wildlife and tranquillity of this special site. Interpretation boards and seating have also been placed along the restored 1.5km path.

In partnership with the Butterfly Conservation we have improved and extended important Rhos pasture habitat and recorded endangered butterfly both in flight and breeding at Fernworthy Reservoir on Dartmoor.

Upgrading our activity centres – adding more land based activities such as high ropes courses, archery and climbing walls. We have also improved over 10km of cycle trails and footpaths – improving the accessibility of our sites so that everyone can enjoy them.
