Christchurch Grand Slam Kayak Fishing Competition a Success

On the weekend of the 8 and 9 of September, the Christchurch Grand Slam Kayak Fishing competition took place. The competition has taken place over the last few years.

27 entrants took to the water in kayaks to compete for the longest combined length of fish. The target was 1 x any Mullet species, + 1 x Bass + 1 x any other species over 15cms. 30cms awarded for this species. The competition was a catch, photo, measure and release competition meaning no fish were to be taken from the fishery.

The weekend was a great success, many anglers got involved and had a tremendous amount of fun. All the profits raised in the event went to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
